Daddy's Little Man

Ok so, we had a revelation in our household this past weekend. Daddy has, shall we say, distanced himself from helping out with Bubba. Like seriously, I don't even remember the last time he changed a diaper or got up with him in the morning, or even fed him a bottle! Even on family nights, it seems that there is just a huge disconnect between Daddy and us.
So, I get to work on Saturday and a friend is back from her maternity leave. We are chit chatting away and she says that her husband does things the complete opposite way that she, shall we say "suggests" as new moms, and maybe all moms do, when it comes to caring for the little one. She said he does this to make her mad. Holy, light bulb!!! Many of times when Daddy is doing things with Jaxin I, I don't know, I guess it is making suggestions because it works for me. He would then make comments about how I always say things when he's doing things with Jaxin about not doing it right or wrong, etc. Sweet mother of pearl, I have totally trampled on Daddy's self esteem when it comes to caring for Jaxin that it is now to the point that he doesn't feel comfortable doing anything with him!
Ok, so, to all of you Daddy's out there that think your woman doesn't think you do things right...let me put it to you this way. Ya know when you are watching TV and there is a sweet baby cub playing in the forrest. Then, some other animal comes along and DA-DAT! WHOMP! WHOMP! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Out of nowhere, comes Momma Bear. Well, just like the Momma Bear protects her Cub, we Momma Bears are the same way. I'm not saying that we are going to attack and bite you if you come close, but we are very protective and it is nothing more than protecting the bun that we carried in our ovens for so long! Our comments are not to discourage or to have things "our way or no way" but to simply, make suggestions as how things could be done because that's how it works for us and we just want what is best for our baby to be safe and well taken care of.
So, I now make sure that Daddy is involved as much as possible. When he comes in during bath time, I let him do it. When we are on the floor playing, I saw "Daddy play with more" or "Daddy pick me up" so Daddy feels like he is a part of this amazing experience.
I am also going to put my foot down and enforce that Adam pick Jaxin up from Grani Jani's or come in from the garage when Auntie Lish is watching Jaxin while I'm at work. I don't get home till 9:30 or after which is way past Bubba's bed time. So, Daddy is now going to get Jaxin around 7 or so in order for him to spend more quality time with his son, just the two of them. So, he will do bath night, cereal, last bottle, and bed time all by themselves when Momma is at work!
So yesterday, Daddy had the day off and came in during cereal time. This is the first time that Daddy has fed Jaxin his cereal, and they both loved it!!
Daddy wasn't so sure at first...
It got a smidgen messy...just like what Momma does :)
But then they both got the hang of it and couldn't stop smiling at each other! Bubba seriously was smiling and trying to eat at the same time!

Hi Momma!
AWE! Melt a heart!! They way these two look at each other, you know they love each other dearly!

So then Daddy wanted to take Jaxin outside to sit on the new deck that he and some friends built this past weekend! Here they are, fixing Jaxin's jacket...

Both, with the same expression, lookin' at me like "What?!"
Awe, my two men who I love more than anything here on earth!
