Ever since I can remember, it's been our family's tradition to go to the horse races at the Logan County fair.  Well, this year, we were forced to move that tradition to the State Fair due to unpaid winnings from last year's races at Logan County.  It's so exciting for each of us to pick our own horse and to cheer them on around the track!!  Papa only bets $2 so it's definitely not a money making day but we all have a great time just spending time with each other!  This year, it was both Daddy and Bubby's first experience!  We decided that we'd leave a little bit early to make sure we could grab some of that fabtabulous fair food for lunch!

Our view from the seats!!  Bubby didn't last too long...he wanted to walk down the isle which led him to whacking the ladies who were sitting in front of us a couple of times.  So, he and Great Nanny roamed around the fair...they went to look at the animals and the the butter cow--a life size cow made of butter!

Our last stop before we left was back to the food stands...we got a funnel cake, a frozen banana, and Bubby's new found favorite...cotton candy!!!  Once he got familiar with the texture and the melting in the mouth...he LOVED it!!

And of course...it wouldn't be the State Fair without an appearance of the King :)

BIG BOY!!!!

So maybe it didn't start out as the ideal first time on the big boy potty with the announcement of needing to go followed by a successful pee stream not to go outside the toilet bowl...even if it was more of a mommy will set you down while I find a diaper to turn around and see a little one pushin' his little hips out to make sure he doesn't get himself with that thang while soaking the carpet is ok...followed by a BUDDY HOLD IT HOLD IT HOLD IT as we are running to the big boy potty...regardless of all of this, our precious little man pottied on the big boy potty for the first time ever on August 17, 2011.  He was then rewarded with an m&m, being allowed to flush the toilet, and to be able to play with the soap and water in the sink :)

Busy busy weekend!!

Bubby spent a good portion of his time this weekend like this...

We had so many things going on this weekend and everything seemed to be going on during his nap time.  He was such a champ though, made his Momma so proud especially since I am so anal about his nap time!!  On Saturday, we went to Cousin Derek's house for Jesse and Gabe's 4th birthday!  We had a great time swimming and playing with all the other kids!!  While we were there, Bubby spotted this right away...shocking :)

The boys were a little standoff-ish for whatever reason and it became a family affair to get them to open up their presents :)

I recently started a new job where I have to dress up which is something I've never had to really do...  So on Sunday, mi madre took me clothes shopping!!!  We ended up going right after church which also happens to be little man's bed time...he was a rock star!!  He did SO good!!  He did the typical kid thing of grabbing the clothes as his stroller wheeled on by and towards the end of the trip he would yell at the top of his lungs just because he could...we did the usual to keep him sort of quiet...singing "na na na na...na na na na...hey hey hey...goodbye" - his sweet little singing voice melts me!  So, at the last stop, while mi madre was wrapping things up, I decided to take Bubby out to let him play in all the rides...sadly, we didn't have any cash so that he could actually ride them but he didn't care at all!!

Logan County Fair!!

This year we took our first trip to the Logan County Fair!!  We had such a great time...I just love doing things like this with my little family!! 

We started the night off at Papa Crabber's camper to say hello and then we made our way to the show barns.  When asked what a cow said Jaxin belted out "MOOOOO" :)  Out next stop was to the big barns...

We then quickly made our way to the corn dog stand!  Bubby turned out to be more interested in the stick and almost jabbed his mother in the eye...stick immediately confiscated!

Then it was time to pluck a duck...he won a plastic horn which instead of making the horn sound, it makes a little toddler humming noise :)

We then tried to win a fish with no luck...

Oh my gosh this was probably one of my more favorite parts...I could literally feel him squealing with excitement as we went down the big slide!

Daddy and son had a blast on the dinosaur roller coaster!!
