Ok so I know I haven't been on here in forever and one of the biggest reasons is because my computer is so ancient that I cannot download my pictures to my computer to update my blog with! So I guess I'll just put in the little tid bit for now until I get to Auntie Goo's (and yes you will be referred to as Auntie Goo from here to eternity ;) ) to use her computer.
So to start, my Little Man is no longer a peanut. As Auntie Goo informed you, Jaxin Ray James Baker was born November 30th at 4:00 pm. That was an experience!! So I knew something was going on at about 3 am, then 4 am, then again at 5 am, and finally knew that he was coming when my mother told me at 6 am that I had better get in the shower and get ready because this was the real deal. When I went to get Adam up and told him that it was time his response was "You're fine baby"...quote unquote-I don't want to get out of bed yet!
So he finally gets up and as I'm getting Little Man's bag ready, I have a bit of leakage...thought my water broke but to find out later, this time it was just leakage. So I'm getting ready and all of a sudden I have to drop a duece....What the h I can't stop!!!! So I call Grani Jani (and yes you will always be referred to as Grani Jani from here till the end of time) because I'm freaking out that I'm going to have my Little Man at home on the crapper!! She said it's fine his head is just really low and you have time! So...we finally get on the road and my contractions are three minutes apart. I'm calling family members in between and, some times, during contractions to tell them we are on our way! Meanwhile, contractions are getting closer and closer and Daddy is only going 80 mph! 80 MPH!! Are you kidding me! I'M GOING TO HAVE THIS CHILD RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW IF YOU DO NOT STEP ON IT...his response is typical male I'm sure...I DON"T WANT TO GET A TICKET! and mine...FOR THE LOVE OF PETE BABE THEY WILL UNDERSTAND!!! Needless to say the speed only went up about 2 mph just to make me happy I'm so sure! Any who...we get there and they wheel me up to the delivery room and as soon as I stand up...WHOOOOSH...water breakage!!! I was humiliated for whatever reason! BABE DON'T LOOK AT ME!!! My lovely mother is telling me that it's fine...no need to worry..this is normal! THIS IS HUMILIATING!! I JUST PEED MY PANTS AND HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL!!! You aren't supposed to Melissa!! So the nurses walk in and ask..has your water broke and without waiting for an answer...oh yes, yes it has!
So as I'm waiting for what do you call it...oh yes the lovely epideral...my contractions are getting closer and a bit more painful! Apparently you have to be dialated to 4 before you get the lovely! So the nurse comes in and checks...fingers crossed...yep 4 cm dialated!! BRING IT ON!!! So the first time it isn't administered correctly. It appears to have gone into my blood stream and not in my nervous system. Second time...works like a charm!! The only thing I absolutely didn't like was the fact that I could not get up to go to the bathroom, could not feel my legs, had to have people move my legs for me, and the only way I could tell I was having a contraction was because I would crap my pants!!! Seriously the most humilating part of this whole entire ordeal was the crapping of the pants!!!!
So we arrive at the hospital at 8 am and 3 pm comes around, rather quickly actually, and I'm dialated to a 10! SWEET MOTHER OF PEARL LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!! So the nurse comes in and we are 'practicing pushing' which, fyi, I was a perfect pusher I was told!!! So Dr. Nord comes in at around 3:25 and my Little Man was here at 4:00 on the dot!!! As soon as he came out Adam jumped up in the air...later to find out it was to avoid the afterbirth HAHAHAHAHA!! WATCH OUT BUD!!
So they put our little bundle of joy immediately on my chest and I just fall in love!! He looks just like his daddy and is absolutely adorable. Of course I have to ask about 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 balls, and a wee!! And yes, he has them all!!! So they take him away and now I have goo on my hand! haha I know I should have expected that but now I want it off my hand!!! They take him over to the little warmer and get him all cleaned! Our little man was such a champ with his shots...he only gave out a little squeal and that was it! He did such an amazing job!!
So on to the name...Adam and I had a few ideas about what we wanted to name our little man but we couldn't decide. I absolutely loved Jackson but I didn't want to name him something that was very common. So, one day, we were watching football and JAX was coming on the screen and I thought that would be a cute nickname for a Jackson. So then i figure we can spell it with an 'x'...Jaxson. Well then I thought, you won't need the s..even more original!! So Auntie Lish put Jaxon up on the fridge to try and persuade Daddy who liked Deegan. Well, Auntie Goo came over for a maternity photoshoot and decided to switch the 'o' to an 'i'. I FELL IN LOVE!!! Well Momma wanted Jaxin from then on. So, we are in the hospital still trying to decide on what we want. Of course, some people had to throw in their two cents which pushed us further and further from a decision and were 'what you are gonna name him, what are you gonna name him evert two flipping mintues!!! Well obviously we don't know yet or else we would have already done so huh!!! So day number two and Baby Baker still does not have a name. Daddy and I talked about Jaxin the night before and were pretty set on it. However, Daddy went to lunch and while he was gone he text me that we should probably have 'son' instead of 'sin'. When he spelled it out, my thoghts were NO we CANNOT have 'sin' in our son's name. Then I got to thinking..there is no need for the 's' so we are back to the 'i'. Well then my honey comes back to the hospital and we are discussing the no need for 's' yada yada yada and he said but then it will be pronouned "Jackin" Baby, are you kidding me...who did you eat lunch with and did you all forget how to pronounce your letters! CRIPES!!! I said is fox pronounced 'fock' even though that this, not spelled the same, was running threw my mind because now we are back at the beginning of where we started with the name. So then when we have finally relearned how to pronounce letters, Adam and I are back on the same page. However, the troops come in and we are back at the beginning where Momma has to re-edumicate the pronunciation of 'x'. I finally told my love to take a pen and pencil and write out Jaxin all the different ways you can think of to spell it with 's's and 'i's and 'o's and any plausible way it can be spelled. Not 5 mintues later he comes back with Jaxin!! The whole point of this long story was to bring me to my words of advice...everyone is going to have their two cents and not everyone will like the name you choose. However, it is your child and you and your baby daddy have to stick together and decide together YOURSELVES!!! Which does not only include the name of your child but other decisions within those first few days that you have to decide, together, as a family, AND STICK WITH EACH OTHER AND STAND UP FOR EACH OTHER AND YOUR FAMILY!!!
Ok, off the soap box now but seriously, family first!!.
