Bubba's 1st Time to the Zoo!

So a couple of weeks ago I took my Bubba to the zoo, just he and I, for a Momma and Baby Date Day!! We had such a great time!! I loved taking him around to all of the animals and reading to him the little fun facts that they have for each one!!

My plan was for him to take a nap on the way to town and we had to stop at the ATM before we got to the zoo. Of course, we hit some major construction traffic and a normal 20 minute drive turned into about 45...no nap! We get to the ATM...still no nap!! We head to the zoo still without a nap. I turn the corner into the parking lot and what do ya know.....nappin'!

I figured once he got in the stroller and we cruised around he would either fall back asleep if necessary or enjoy himself! Apparently the 2 minute cat nap he got while I was parking was just enough...he was so excited to see the animals!!

This isn't a very good picture but Bubba loved these stinkin' monkeys...

Crack me up!! As soon as we wheeled up to this exhibit, this monkey took one look at Bubba and ran all the way down to get level with him! It was pretty funny...Bubba just laughed at him!

We loved watchin' the seal!! Bubba would watch him under the water go back and forth under the rock and then get all excited when he would poke his head out of the water...

The otters were alot of fun too!! Those things are always movin' and a groovin' so Bubba thought they were pretty exciting too!!

8 month cont...

My Bubba turns 9 months old today but there are a few things that I forgot to mention in my previous 8 month post...

Bubba now has at least 6 teeth. He just got his two teeth right next to his top middle teeth last week. I say "at least" because I can't really check the back without getting licked or bit :) Bubba has also started acting shy, which is so adorable!! If someone that he isn't too familiar with talks to him, he'll get his big ol' grin on and then just burry his little head in my shoulder or lay his head down on my shoulder! It's the cutest thing!!

He is also a fa-lirt!!! Any time there is a girl around he just laughs and stares...I tell him he looks enough like his dad he doesn't need to start acting like him too :)

Bubba also just received his first battle wound! He was pulling himself up and slipped and fell. But, on his way down he whacked his poor little baby mouth on the corner of our ottoman. He started bleeding and his little mouth was filling with blood. Being our first experience with this, we weren't really sure what to do. So, we sort of just went straight to the bathroom and rapidly contemplated how to get the blood out so we could see. We ran to the kitchen and grabbed his syringe for his meds and squirted water in his mouth, which he enjoyed :) After we got his mouth all cleaned out we could see two little bumps on the inside corner of his lower lip and then there were two little spots on the outside corner of his little lip. My poor little baby!! The syringe brings me to my next train of thought...

Bubba was diagnosed with his very first ear infection on Saturday :( He had been running a temp, which we assumed was due to his new toofers. He had also been holding his food in his mouth not wanting to swallow, which we also assumed for new back toofers. He also was getting little bumpies on his bod that wasn't making me very comfortable and he had not gotten from his last toofers. On Friday, his temp was higher then it had ever been before and it was still going up even after giving him Tylenol. Because I freak out over ev-er-y-thing, I called the on-call Dr. and he said to bring him in on Saturday, first thing just to make sure. He thought because of the temp and the holding of the food, it must be his little throat. The Dr. took one look in his little ear "Ear infection in there..." "Excuse me?! What?!?! Did you say-is or is not?!?! Ma'am, he's never even tugged or pulled or winced or anything with his ears!!!" "Yeah, sometimes we see children in for their well-child appointments with ear infections" Thinking to myself, um, ok, supposed to make me feel better but MY LITTLE BABY HAS AN EAR INFECTION AND I WOULD HAVE NEVER EVEN GUESSED THAT'S WHAT WAS WRONG!!! Yeah, so after the Dr. leaves and I had a mini break down, we go get Bubba's first prescription filled! Since he was sick I got him a couple other goodies while we waited for his prescription; a big ol' stuffed frog--when I say big, I mean bigger than him--new book, new Gerber Graduate Strawberry Yogurt Melts, and a new bath soap...apple and honey which smells ah-mazing!!

Oh how this 8th month has brought SO much new excitement to our lives!! Jaxin is getting so big and he is just growing up so fast...way too fast!!! He is crawling crawling crawling allllll over the place. He follows us around the house wherever we go...it is the cutest thing!! He is also pulling himself up on everything!! From the ottoman to the couch, he's even now pulling himself up in his crib...breaks a Momma's heart to see her little baby not such a little baby anymore!! We are trying new finger foods too. It's the texture thing that he has to get over but once he does, he tears it up!! His favorite is still his yogurt though. He gets so excited when he sees me pull out the little canister thing of Gerber Graduate Puff things...he loves those!! We have also eaten bread chunks, little pieces of cheese, still not too sure about cottage cheese, he's also not too sure about cheerios, and he is not a fan of banana chunks...has to be the slime.

These are just a few randoms from the past month...

I put these next ones in here just because it as an amazing night for our little family and it's just one of those nights I'd like to remember :)

Bubba got some new toys from Momma's old babysitter and he just LOVES them..they are helping him with his standing and pulling up!!

How I get thru my Saturdays...

So Saturdays I am stuck at work ALLLL day...8-530...it's a normal shift for some, but not this Momma!! It is the HARDEST day of the week because I am away from my baby ALL DAY!! And it is seriously torture! So, the only rule I have for whoever watches him, usually Grani Jani or Aunti Lish, you have GOT to send me pictures throughout the day!! These are some that I have gotten the past two Saturdays and without them I wouldn't make it!!! THANKS GRANI JANI AND AUNTIE LISH one for sending my pictures throughout the day and two for taking care of my baby while I'm away!!!
